Overview
A UE5 Blueprint CineCamera that physically simulates the ARRI Alexa Super 35 body with the full ARRI/ZEISS Master Prime lens set. Every lens preset maps real-world focal length, T-stop, minimum focus distance, and field of view to give your Unreal cinematics the optical character of one of cinema’s most trusted camera systems.
Drop it into any UE5 project as a replacement for the default CineCamera Actor. Select your lens from the preset list and your scene inherits the real optical properties of that Master Prime — no manual calculation required.

In UE5 the sensor size is set in the CineCamera’s Filmback settings. The Blueprint maps this to 28.17 x 18.13mm — matching the physical Alexa Super 35 exactly. This means your field of view calculations and depth of field will behave identically to a real Alexa on set.

UE5’s depth of field at T1.3 on Super 35 is extremely shallow — especially on longer focal lengths. At 150mm T1.3 the depth of field is razor thin. Set your focus distance carefully or use Tracking focus mode in the Blueprint.
For Sequencer work, keyframe the Lens Preset variable to simulate a lens change mid-shot. Combined with a subtle focus pull this can sell a completely different visual register without moving the camera.
Workflow Tips
Wide establishing
MP 16–21
Environmental context, scale, and geography. Let the environment breathe.
Scene coverage
MP 25–35
The workhorses. Natural perspective, minimal distortion, most versatile range.
Character shots
MP 40–65
Flattering compression, background separation, cinematic portrait feel.
Hero close-ups
MP 75–100
Isolate subject completely. Background becomes pure bokeh.
Dramatic compression
MP 135–150
Stack foreground and background. Intimate distance feeling from far away.
Cinematic aperture
T1.3–T2.8
T1.3 for moody low-light. Stop down to T2.8 for more depth in bright scenes.
Cinematic shutter
1/48 sec
180° rule at 24fps. Gives natural motion blur cadence matching film.
Native ISO
EI 800
Alexa’s sweet spot. Low noise, full dynamic range, natural tonal response.
